Suzuki is a Japanese car brand that offers good everyday cars at healthy prices. That has always been the case and nothing has changed in that regard - the Suzuki Vitara revealed in 2015 has some changes compared to its predecessor. The "Grand" on the Vitara nameplate disappeared. The 4.14 meter long Grand Vitara, built between 1998 and 2015, was dropped from the model range. Today you only find a Suzuki Vitara.
In its category, the Suzuki Vitara meets the expectations that are placed on the format in the class of VW T-Roc, Ford EcoSport and Hyundai Kona. At almost 4.20 meters in length, the Japanese SUV offers enough space and variability for the crew almost everywhere. In the Suzuki Vitara, modern infotainment, solid everyday use and the option of riding off-road with all-wheel drive are well and safely provided for.
For the 2019 model year, the Suzuki Vitara received a subtle facelift, which can be seen from the outside in the new brand face, in new colors and from the rear in the LED taillights and the differently shaped underride guard.
The well-known 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo with 140 hp ensures decent driving performance in the Vitara. But if a top speed of 200 km/h is not needed, the newer three-cylinder turbo is the right choice.
The 1.0-litre three-cylinder with a small displacement is trimmed for torque in the low engine speed range and at 180 km/h it is sufficiently brisk. The consumption specified by Suzuki is okay (5.3 to 5.7 litres/100 km) and is half a litre below that of the 1.4-litre turbo engine. This means that the 47-litre tank lasts a little longer.
The gears are sorted with a 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearbox or optionally with a 6-speed automatic with shift paddles on the steering wheel.
Motor oil is a vital part of your Suzuki Vitara's engine. It provides the much needed lubrication to many of the internal parts of an engine. One of its key jobs is to prevent wear and tear on the moving parts which helps keep the engine running smoothly. Without oil, the engine would cease up almost immediately.
Regularly checking and changing your Suzuki Vitara engine oil is really important. Every time you start and run your car, very fine by-products from the combustion in the engine will be collected in the engine oil. This is one of the reasons why over time the oil goes black. If these contaminants build up too much and exceed the capacity of the oil it can have a negative impact on your car’s overall efficiency and actually effect its performance as it creates sludge and increased wear in the engine block.
Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.
So which engine oil should you buy for your Suzuki Vitara? Whether you are topping up your Suzuki Vitara oil or doing a full change of your Suzuki Vitara's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.
We have listed all the Suzuki Vitara models and engine types in the following table, as well as the correct engine oil grade for each of the cars. You can use the search and filter to easily find the right engine oil for your Suzuki Vitara.
