In 2011, the Spanish VW subsidiary Seat expanded its range with the Mii microcar, an entry-level model. During the construction period, Seat differentiated the oil change intervals for the various Mii models of the KF1 type. In this article you can find out what changes there were with the transition to the year of construction 2014 and which viscosity classes were approved by the manufacturer. We will also inform you how much oil needs to be refilled when changing and how the practical online price comparison can save costs for every oil change by choosing a cheap specialist workshop.
How often you need to change the oil in your Seat Mii depends on the year of manufacture. Because in 2014, Seat changed the recommended service intervals. For example, Seat recommends that Mii models built up to 2013 have the oil changed once a year or every 10,000 miles (15,000km). For any Mii cars built in the year 2014 onwards, the oil change date is based on the PR numbers, which you can find in the service booklet. For vehicles with code QI1, the engine oil should be changed once a year or every 3,000 miles (5,000 km). For a Seat Mii with the markings QI2 and QI3, the oil change is recommended once a year or every 6500 miles (10,000 km). The 15,000 km interval only applies to Mii's with the coding QI4. Our tip: If you cannot find out the PR number yourself, ask your local Seat dealer about the oil change intervals that apply to your Mii.
The Mii is considered Seat's economy model, and this is also noticeable when it comes to the amount of oil needed to do an oil change. The small car makes do with a refill quantity of approx 3.4 litres, which must be used in with every oil change. It should be noted that only engine oils with the appropriate manufacturer approval should be used when doing the oil change. Information on manufacturer approval and the various viscosity classes such as 5W-30 can be obtained from the owners handbook or by speaking to your local Seat dealership.
Motor oil is a vital part of your Seat Mii's engine. It provides the much needed lubrication to many of the internal parts of an engine. One of its key jobs is to prevent wear and tear on the moving parts which helps keep the engine running smoothly. Without oil, the engine would cease up almost immediately.
We have listed all the Seat Mii models and engine types in the following table, as well as the correct engine oil grade for each of the cars. You can use the search and filter to easily find the right engine oil for your Seat Mii.

Regularly checking and changing your Seat Mii engine oil is really important. Every time you start and run your car, very fine by-products from the combustion in the engine will be collected in the engine oil. This is one of the reasons why over time the oil goes black. If these contaminants build up too much and exceed the capacity of the oil it can have a negative impact on your car’s overall efficiency and actually effect its performance as it creates sludge and increased wear in the engine block.
Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.
So which engine oil should you buy for your Seat Mii? Whether you are topping up your Seat Mii oil or doing a full change of your Seat Mii's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.
